What is your favorite NON-Cornish X meat bird package?

Find someone on the board to go in with you.... I have seen many people do this with great luck. By the end of it, you will have way more people than chickens. Another good place is Craigslist.... just sell them...

hi,

i am going to try a commercial breed that isn't a cornish cross from s and g poultry in alabama. the grow out is 10 to 12 weeks but the birds are better foragers and have thinner skin than a cornish, which i think i will like.

I agree, I am very happy with mine. they are about 5 weeks now and they love scratching around in the grass and still growing nicely

Do the freedom rangers get the same meat bird feed that the Cornish X do? Would I treat them the same (i.e. pasture pen with no roosts)? I discussed them with DH, and it looks like we'll probably try them.
