What is your favorite spice?

I used to cook this eggplant dish I saw Emril do.In the start you were dry cooking some spices and the smell was so wonderful(to me).I remember cumin, coriander seeds, and tumeric. After that some garlic and onion.Hmmm now I have to go find the recipe.I like the coriander seeds, but can not stand the smell of fresh coriander.I still grown the plant for bees though. I read tumeric is reall good for your health.

Not sure if it counts but I am liking cajun spice mix.

I don't really like fresh ginger but love making ginger snap cookies and ginger tea.

Dh likes cumin.I make mini beef patty with cumin, onion, peppers.Smells nice cooking.

I looked up the eggplant recipe:

cayenne pepper. Just about anything that calls for pepper gets a kick with cayenne pepper instead.

Mmmm some fire on your eggs, french fries, maccaroni and cheese...

I've never tasted Adobo. I know it's not a spice, but I have to say garlic and my second favorite would be cinnamon.

Does salt count??? if not then Cayenne... but cumin is also a top choice for me. Tumeric is what I put on my chickens food and Cinnamon and Celery seed

Black Pepper. I use it in almost everything.

I also love the smell of cloves, but I hardly ever use it except for pumpkin bread and some apple recipes

I <3 Coriander. It is really an unsung hero. But I think Nutmeg would have to be my favorite spice. I put it in tons of stuff - both sweet and savory. That is where it beats out coriander, it's not so good in the sweet applications.

But then again Cumin gets used constantly in my kitchen. And everything would taste like crap without Salt.

I am going to have to agree with the NOT CHOOSING ONE.

Adobo is sort of a mixture of different spices. I think there is salt, garlic, cumin, paprika, and a bunch of other things, but together they taste awesome! It's a spice blend used mostly in spanish cooking.

It's so interesting to see what everyon's favorite spice is and how they use it! Mmmm...cayenne pepper on eggs!
