No probmlem. It has died out anyway, and i was getting into it. So would sandhill be better than ideal?

Define "hold their own" for me. If you mean throw them out in the woods and they might survive on their own, that's different than ones that are really good foragers and will come back to the coop at night for supplemental feed.

Love my Brahmas! They are gentle, laid back, good broodies, and good moms. They will also face down a hawk, at least my Big Bertha did! The hawk decided to find easier prey.

Avoid predators, go broody and raise the chicks and only get any significant amount of feed in the winter. Free range well.
