What is your friendliest Chicken? What breed is it?

I had a Dominique named Lacey that was the most friendly of all my chickens. She would always follow me around, wanting to know what I was up to. She even jumped over the fence to come see what I was doing when I was fiddling with the car one day. She laid her eggs on a table on the porch (very convenient!) . She was near the top on the pecking order, but her fellow Dom was like her deputy and did all the keeping order. She didn't like the other chickens very much, except for a Cuckoo Maran, they would hang out together.

My friendliest is an ISA brown. She'll climb onto my lap if I sit on the ground. She follows me everywhere, comes when I call & never bites me. (bonus!) After her is my leghorn...starting to trust me more & always comes when I bend down to give her some dandelions or clover. I also have an Orpington and an Ameraucana that run from me...lol

My smartest and friendliest is an Isa Brown too. She will come right over to visitors and eve lets them pick her up.

Looks just like puddingmy hen that died...

My daughter's friendliest chicken was actually a duck who thought he was a chicken. he was raised with hens and when we finally did get him a girl duck he was not interested. His name was Timber. he liked to run and hop on my daughter's lap when she called. and he would shiver with happiness is why we called him Timber. (shiver me timbers) if a hen came by while he was having his "moment" he would hop off her lap and chase the hen away then come running back.. and he never pooped on her lap. just would do so as soon as he would get off her lap. He was a rouen.
I had to do a mini happy dance (mini cause I was sitting down) when I saw him. He is such a handsome fella (she is just as lovely) but he is awesome! I love the colors of the males. Our drake is a white and fawn indian runner. Never planned to have a boy but am glad he is a runner and not a jumbo pekin, some of the girls wouldn't of been able to handle him otherwise.

I have to admit I had no idea what an ISA brown was so I had to look it up. She is a brave girl to allow outsiders to pick her up. I don't think any of my girls ever do that. Well I guess to clarify the only outsider they see is my dad when he sometimes closes up the coop at night, so I guess to be fair they haven't had much of a chance to let anyone pick them up. BUT I digress... She is lovely and looks very happy to be cuddled right there in your arms.

We too have a Dom and I must say I am more familiar with the look Lacey is giving you in the second picture than the innocent one in the first. Our Girl is named Pepper (my triplet niece and nephews picked her name out). I think Pepper was ornery from hatch day. They probably were happy to see her leave the hatchery the day she shipped out. Just kidding, only a little

anyways. She is very ornery and doesn't allow any horseplay around her. Even though she is not top of the pecking order in real life, she is in her own mind.
Lacey looks quite content with her lot in life and she is a very pretty girl.

LOL! That's a perfect description! Also, yes! Ornery!
Also don't let that innocent pic fool you, right around the time that pic was taken, she jumped on my roommate's shoulder, the first time she came out to see the chickens, and pecked her in the eye! She hasn't come out to see the chickens since.

Oooooooo, I bet not! That sounds exactly like Pepper though. She is one bird I never hold close to my head/face for that very reason. She just loves to peck. We would get into pecking wars. Her pecking my hands and me popping her beak. Since I wasn't actually doing anything more than tapping her with the tip of my finger she finally got bored and walked off. I thought I had won the war but she proved it to be a small skirmish because she was right back to pecking again less than 10 minutes later. I often tell her that if she wasn't an endangered American breed that I would put her in the skillet and eat her. She knows at this point though that I have no plans of eating any of them, so she just keeps it up, the ornery rump!

Lol!! Yes there is a story behind every picture! My mom took the picture and I told my husband to kiss peggy, because i know he loves her and he just ended up giving her a thumbs up he said he was afraid she was going to eat him because she's so fat, that's when I gave him this look!!

My blue ameraucana, Granny Weatherwax, is the sweetest chicken in my flock. Very gentle and calm, loves to be pet, follows me everywhere. And lays me the prettiest blue eggs!
My barred rock is also very personable.

My least friendly and most standoffish is my barnevelder. She is pretty but not a fan of people or being handled!

I knew it would be good and man I wasn't disappointed! That's great! Can't stop chuckling over that one, she is going to eat me. Lord, she must have a monster mouth in person or chicken, well you know what I mean. Poop chubby Peggy, can't even get a kiss.

Can I just say WOW! Granny Weatherwax is Beautful!! Man I would love to have one like her. The other two are pretty too but I know now that they might be a bit jealous of Granny. Beautiful pictures also, especially with the barred rock. You should enter it in one of the contests when they next do it if you haven't already.
Question though: How did you come up with the name Granny Weatherwax? One of our little silkie roos is named Sir Scuttlebutt. They look like they scuttle more than walk when they are that fluffy and have feathers on their legs but I wanted him to be dignified because he was such a sweetheart so I added the Sir, Not to mention there had to be someone of rank for Princess Penelope Pink Pumps to spend her time with. (She is too stuck up for a commoner!)
