Nope the run isn't covered. Guess it will have to be covered.
Yes, so then it was 99% a hawk. If I have my chickens out without any covering, I'm always out there to make sure non get attacked by a hawk.

I suggest, covering your run with hardware cloth or tarps.
 
So sorry...
Could a critter have gotten under your fence? At night a raccoon could have climbed over that fence, and either a hawk by day, or an owl at night, could be involved. We had rats invade our coop one year, and had birds killed at night by them.
Any tracks outside? Tufts of fur or feathers?
Most of us learn that our facilities need upgrading this way, again I'm so sorry.
