A cat sounds likely. It could have been your crows, too. They have killed 3 pound birds at my house. They pull feathers, open the body cavity, pull intestines out, then peel the feathers and eat the breast meat.
Most predators will carry the bird away and not eat it right there. So it was something that isn't worried about eating close to humans. That's a lot of meat gone, so it was a bit larger predator, which is why it looks like a cat or a small flock of crows to me. Pulling meat off and not taking the bones apart or breaking the bones would indicate that the predator was not great big like a dog or coyote. A fox would have taken the bird away.
