What killed my chickens?

We have a chicken coop that we go out and shut every single night. The chicken door is a sliding door that slides sideways. We shut it and then place a board behind it so if anything tried to shake the door or scratch at it it wouldn't easily slide open. Last night, something got the board out, opened the door and killed all three of my chickens. Two were laying dead inside the coop and one dead in the run. Nothing is eaten, the birds are just dead. I was thinking raccoon because that's the only animal I would think is smart enough to get the door opened but usually a raccoon will eat the heads.

It could be a fox. Was any missing? Do you have any pictures it might gave more clues.

none missing, just dead.

they were just dead, nothing eaten off of them

Something came to eat your birds maybe got spooked and off it went ...I am so sorry this happened if you decide to get more feathered friends do invest in a heavy duty lock for top and bottom of door
