What killed my duck? .....(update) It gets worse!

This morning I found one of my pekin ducks dead in the yard. Not a lot of feathers scattered, so I don't think it was a dog. When I had a dog attack before, there were 3 chickens with feathers missing and they were torn up from shaking and only one was dead. With this duck, The throat was torn out and the back end partially eaten. What would have done this?

Sounds like an opossum to me, they ususally go for the rear. Sorry for your loss. Set a live trap, and do away with the critter.

More bad news this morning!!

Couldn't be opposum, something killed that too!

The duck that was killed had its throat ripped out.

Checked on birds this morning, everyone was locked up over night. No birds missing but I found a dead opposum that had its back end torn up pretty good. It was laying next to the chicken house, on the outside.

I am upset over the kittens though.

My 3 eight-week old kittens are missing! not a single sign or clue as to what happened to them. The adult cats are all fine.

Could it be a raccoon? Would a raccoon or skunk kill a opposum and take away the kittens?

I think I will sit out there for a while tonight with a gun! Got to get rid of this critter before it does any more damage!

To top everything off, my parrot died unexpectedly last night and I had to bury her this morning.

She was my baby for 10 years! I love her and will miss her a lot.

Just a guess but it looks like you live in a state with a decent amount of coyotes. Would take a dog sized critter to down that posum plus possibly take the kittens as well.
