Sounds like a good plan. I will be real honest with you I'm surprised you haven't had a predator problem before now. But I know you will get it done so your ducks will be very safe. When We first fenced in more of our property for our growing flock we put up welded wire fencing and it held up real well till blk bears started climbing over it to get to the bird feeders and I would have to go back and try to straighten up the fence where they just climb right over and bend it almost to the ground. It got so bad we had to replace all the fencing. Good strong fencing with hardware cloth and netting over top will go along way in keeping your boys safe. Keep us updated on progress please.Yes please! I was thinking of going to home depot and buying 4ft high fencing and hardwire cloth to put around the bottom and concrete slabs to line the outside of the pen, and of course put the netting over the top. Does this sound predator proof?
That looks a lot better Finny are you still going to put up the hardware wire around the bottom ? and gate ? you need a really good latch that a raccoon can not open they are really good at opening latches.
I am going to add on a door with at least 4 latches, and the hardwire is already on the bottom its hard to see in the picture though. And i curled some of the hardwire cloth under the concrete slabs to help to prevent things from digging even more. I still need to get more slabs and make the door and secure everything with more ties and staples and then i should be good![]()
