What killed my rooster? Updated

Well lost another one- a BA hen 2 days ago. It happened mid afternoon, this time the offender ate a good bit of her.

I had run a trail camera and a live trap after the roo, nothing.

Freshened up the bait in the live trap and I caught the wildest tom cat. Probably around 15 lbs.

I STRONGLY suspect he was the culprit since the second attack came during the day.

No losses last night or today- hopefully order has been restored

Sorry for the loss of your roo....I know you caught a tom cat but I am still going with the coon vote! If it is a coon it will be back until you don't have a bird left in the coop. Oh and don't think for a second that a Red Tail wouldn't take out a full grown roo of any breed. I have lost full grown Barred Rock roos and even a Black Giant to them in the past.
