I was told it was a silky, sadly he just started crowing and I can not have a rooster in town.

No, but he's likely a Silkie cross. Silkies are a poofy looking breed, like their feathers are made of fur. . . But, that trait is recessive, so once crossed, the feathers just look normal again.

sadly...not a silky either...and it should have been crowing for awhile..

I am thinking maybe Polish/Cochin Cross. Possibly Polish/Silkie cross.

I am liking the polish silky cross, that is what my father said, he is adorable, I was hoping he would breed with my white silky hen, he just started crowing he is 5 months old. When can he "help" with fertile eggs? I can not keep him long, with a town rule against roos. Though his crowing is not loud.

if he is crowing he should be starting real soon if he isn't already. I would say a week after he has done his deed you would pretty much be sure to have fertile eggs.
