No Consumer Reports on bators that I know of. However, even if CR
reviewed bators, I doubt they could determine in one test what the
years of experience people here have.
Parts availability is good on most models. You just call the manufacturer
and have the parts shipped. In the case of Little Giant or Hovabators
if the bator breaks you buy a new bator and switch over the fan and
turner to it.
There are a lot of members here who have made their own bators and
have had great success. Knowing your bator and hatching is way more
important than the bator itself.
I guess my point is there is no "Best" bator but there is a "Best" bator
for you.
Final thought:
I would never buy a used bator as my first bator nor would I spend
more than 50% of the new price on a used model. For some crazy
reason used bators on
Ebay sell for almost as much as new ones do.
Used incubator like the lyons and Gqf sportsman, last for years, got some of mine 20 years ago. never had to replace any parts yets.
Agree some on
ebay sell for high dollors. Every incubator I have I got used.
Would never buy a used Styrofoam incubator
