What kind of bird is this????

Hi, can anybody tell me what kind of bird this is, it has been flying around my pond & diving in & getting my frogs, it's irritating my ducks they chase it around the pond to chase it away but it's not really afraid of them it just goes to the other side of the pond to get away from them. It's actually pretty funny watching them chase this bird around but i'm afraid it might attack them it looks like it has a long pointy beak, plus I don't want it killing all my frogs & small fish. I thought it might be a woodpecker but it looks larger than the pics I saw of woodpeckers.

Could be a heron.

Yes, I agree we have 2 herons around here & there much bigger so I know it's not a heron. Just really curious on what this is

Thanks, I hope it's not a type of heron we have enough problems with herons around here, for the last 2 yrs we had a heron that was killing our fish & frogs & this spring it came back with it's baby!!!! They are huge nothing like the bird in the pic but maybe it's a cousin, maybe their going to have a family reunion!!!!!!

Believe me I would love to " take care of them " but it's illegal to kill herons at least it is in Pa
