what kind of breed is she?

A very pretty Wyandotte! I have wyandottes and it seems like it takes them forever to start laying. I had a few that were almost 9 months old when I got the first egg. But after they start, they are very consistent layers.

That's a very pretty splash laced Wyandotte hen. She should be a good layer of lighter brown eggs for you. Wyandottes make great layers and are usually pretty docile, so they're good as pets. They're big enough the males make a good meal for a family, but they're not what's considered a "meat bird", they're dual purpose, meaning they're good for eggs or meat.
