My hen, Edna, is expecting chicks. She is a Golden Comet (Rhode Island and Leghorn) and the father, Gilman, is a Buff Orpington and Spotted Sussex cross. What might their babies look like? The mother and father are both very much red but is it possible for my rooster's mother, the Spotted Sussex, to be seen in the chicks?

The speckling on the Sussex is recessive, so you won't see it in this batch of chicks. Sounds like you'll get a lot of gold/red/white birds, probably with lots of white legs (dominant) and straight combs.
