Just for the curious software programmer, what type of computer do you have?

Oops, linux is linux, not just ubuntu.

I have all 3 WinXP, OSX Snow Leopard, and Mandriva 10.1

I use my Mac for everyday use, the Linux almost never gets turned on and the XP is for just one problem that only runs on Windows.

Macbook, & iMac - snow leopard on both... Used to have PC's - got tired of all the problems and viruses, will never go back
