Used to use pine shavings & then pine shavings & wood pellet bedding in the winter, because I seem to have a condensation problem on the floor in the winter. The last two years I have used Koop Klean chopped straw. It is expensive, but so much easier & lighter to shovel out in spring when I have like 3-4 bags of it in the coop. Doesn't seem to mat down like pine chips. Composts better also.

Pine shavings, but I'm not convinced they are the best option! I don't do deep litter and feel like they need to be cleaned frequently. Plus, they do not break down for compost nearly as quickly as hay or straw. Hmm... maybe I should switch!

Also RodNTN, how do you make it say under your name "Ayana Cemani Lover"?
Just go on you're profile, click on "Personal Details" and just type what you want in the section "Custom Title".
Thanks!
