Just came across this pic, I've never seen a breed that looked anything like it.

Any ideas?

Beautiful birds! Pretty pricey: http://bestfarmbuys.com/classifieds/detail.asp?classified_id=128098&category=

"Ruddy
shelduck have a reputation for their aggressive quarrelsome nature and as such are more popular for wildfowl collections with plenty of space. Their rich coppery-cinnamon plumage, pale buff head and black bill, legs and tail is both striking and unusual. To go with their bold nature ruddy shelduck utter a very noisy nasal whooping call." http://www.waterfowl.org.uk/shelducks.html

Good
information here on this site too, and you'll want to listen to the racket they make first: http://www.planetofbirds.com/anseriformes-anatidae-ruddy-shelduck-tadorna-ferruginea

I have a pair of these, thats the female Ruddy shelduck, they burrow to make their nest
