What kind of duckling is this?

Muscovy, not mallard.
It does not have a full eye stripe as do mallards - it has half.
The duckling looks ill/cold; what are you keeping it in?
Can you set it in a warm, quiet area, and try offering some warm fluid electrolytes, and mashed scrambled eggs?

Did you just find this duckling or was it bought?

It was bought. I got my first duck as a gift 4 weeks ago but wasn’t able to find a store that had any near me until today. Wanted to get another to keep the first one company.

When I took the picture it was hopping in and out of its water in an area of the house that I’ve set aside for the ducks to be in when I can watch them. Dried him off immediately. We’re planning on keeping him in the house in a good sized cage with a heated area. I plan to give it a lot of outdoor time. I’m giving him non-medicated chick crumbles and warm water with electrolytes and vitamins but I’ll definitely give the eggs!

Just wondering if anyone knows what breed this is. Also, any tips on how to stop my other 4 week old duckling from pecking and snapping at it? Should I just wait until they get older to let them near each other? The one pictured is only a few days old

Make a separation in the brooder so your other duckings can see the little one and it can see them. But they can't get to it. It may take a week or 2 but they will eventually accept it

that is a muscovy, not sure if i would even consider them a duck. most people don’t

Muscovy are ducks they are just their own species, not derived from the Mallard like all other domestic ducks.
