So it could be a Buff-back, then. That´s a saddleback pattern, but buff in colour. Poms can come in buff, too.

If your gosling has brown on its back welk then it can be buff!
Buff are really nice looking birds

Does it have brown on his beak?!
Embden goslings dont have brown on there back but they have dark or light greenish

What were you feeding the gosling? It needed grass and growth game bird or waterfowl feed. Plus plenty of water. Did you walk baby too long they can only walk a little at a time.
