What kind of hen is this?

Well if you ordered them 3 years ago then she is 100% a EE, Whiting true blues and Cream Legbars were new additions to McMurray's stock this year.
Ahh.. I guess I wouldn't know. I stopped with McMurray after the five roosters I got. They said that they could refund, but it wasn't money they were offering, it was credits to buy more chickens. By that time we had too many chickens and didn't want to end up with more roosters, anyways.

I also think that the rare breed bonus is just another way for them to get rid of roosters they can't get rid of otherwise. I'm sure people get hens all the time, but the rare breed isn't guaranteed to be a hen. It can be whichever, so they usually make it a rooster.

The free chick is a straight run, so they are not sexed. You have an equal chance of getting a hen or rooster. I only had problems with them 2 times, they are the only hatchery I have ordered from for the past 16 years, I was very disappointed this year when I paid for hens but basically got a straight run batch of birds...

That's what happened to me when I ordered from them. The majority may have been hens, but there shouldn't have been any roosters.

Well there is always a chance to get some roosters, the sexing is only 90% accurate. Unless you order sex linked breeds then there will always be mistakes.

This is the hen I thought was my Easter Egger. I was told in a previous post that I made a long time ago that she was likely the Easter Egger. We weren't supposed to have one in the bunch we got. Easter Egger wasn't a possibility for the pack we got, but we got one.View attachment 1544410
That actually looks like a Silver Phoenix, a Leghorn would have yellow legs. The black one looks like a Black Minorca — but those have single combs that can curl and flop over a little.
