This is our 2 y.o. hen "Chi Chi". She has five toes and sparse feathering on her legs, leading me to believe that she is a feather legged/clean legged cross? She also has a little beard and top hat. The woman who gave her to us said that she is a silkie/bantam mix, and that is what we always told people, but lately I have been noticing EE chickens who look very similar...

and here is a picture of her as a pullet....her feathering was much more pronounced!

... Now i say she is part silkie, and she does appear to have a beard/doesn't show much "silkiness" (silkie characteristics).. So she maybe a silkieXEE.

I am thinking silkie crossed with a brown leghorn, hence the pattern, white lobes, and what seems to be yellow legs. I know the single comb should dominate, but if it was a rose comb BL.....?????

Single comb would not be dominant. The single comb is a recessive trait. If crossed with a rose comb, pea comb, walnut, etc. you will not get a single comb, but rather a bird that carries it.
