I am modifying a child's playhouse to put my silkies into. I redesigned the roof line as you can see in the pictures. I will be putting vents in on all three sides that have the arch (all four sides will be totally covered with plywood. I am at a loss as far as what I can do to fill the void between the existing roof and the modified roof. There is such a big space I didn't know if I could use rolled insulation to fill it up, or just insulate the underside of the top and sides. I have already insulated between the playhouse walls and the plywood cladding on the sides.

The roof is not in place yet...I know I need longer overhangs and that is in the plan.

Any suggestions?

So, I don't have to worry about my silkies getting too cold in the winter?

You'll probably want to get advice from Silky experts, since they have non-standard feathering, but as a general rule you don't have to keep chickens warm, you keep them dry and they keep themselves warm with their built-in down parkas.
