Super Hero Hatch-Along

Awwwww they're so cute 🥰 for real though I could stare at developing eggs all day lol

Am I the only one who "goes broody" when there are eggs in the incubator? 🤣

Go Drax!!!

I don’t incubate eggs but the odd time I have let broodies hatch eggs. I prefer gifting them with day old chickies sex as Pullets - I already have 4 Roos here! Don’t need more boys.

But I brood those eggs right along with mama hen!

Candled the babies tonight with the help of my amazing daughter! She got some great pictures. We are 6/6 in development and they are looking great!

In order of appearance:
Hella
Drax
Dr. Strange
Mantis
Groot
Sylvie

Those are awesome thanks for sharing.

Lost power this morning at 6 am (high winds)!

Temps are holding steady, thanks to my Jackery! And triple blanket power! So glad I invested in this thing a few years ago.

I think it's safe to give an update, now. Temp has been holding quite steady at 99.7.

Day 7 (3/13) – Friday the 13th

• 5:20 AM:
- Power goes out. The incubator begins to lose heat rapidly in the Michigan morning air.

• 6:05 AM:
- Switched power over to the Jackery battery.
- Wrapped the unit in a triple-blanket "nest" and restricted the vent to 1/3. Temp hit a low of 95.3°F; humidity dropped to 45%.

• 6:30 AM:
- Temperature begins a steady climb back toward the safe zone. Jackery is pulling roughly 26W as the heater works overtime.
- Humidity drops to 42.9%, added cool water as there was no heat.

• 9:30 AM – Power is back!
- Incubator is plugged back into the wall. Humidity is recovered to 61.4% and temp is holding at 99.2°F.

• 11:20 AM
- Removed one blanket and set vent to 1/2
- Noted a slight "stair-step" temperature drop as the unit adjusted to the ambient room air, but it leveled off safely at 99.3°F.
- Raised the room temp to 86°

• 3:30 PM
- Reached a perfect, high-stability state of 99.8°F and 67.8% humidity. The "thermal momentum" from the recovery is now working in the embryos' favor.

• 4:15 PM
- Humidity naturally settled to 60.2% while temperature held at 100.0°F.

• 7:00 PM
- The day ends with a beautiful flat line on the Govee chart. Final readings: 99.7°F and 61.7% humidity and remained throughout the rest of the night.
