What kind of lock to use on these doors?

That makes a lot more sense. I will do this unless I think of something better, I might take off the middle lock and just do something longer so the edges of the doors don't budge from the coop at all. Right now the middle lock is so short it allows movement, but a longer lock shouldn't in theory. Kinda like how you see castles that have the long board across the door, I'm sure there is a word for that... 😅

I think those are just called bars but I'm not sure.
 
You would keep your middle lock.
Honestly I think the middle lock is insufficient and I should do something different all together. Without the wood blocks the doors come out a couple inches with the middle lock closed and that seems like an issue. Thoughts?

The blocks are fine.
Maybe you just need something to actually lock the middle?

I feel like a raccoon could figure out the blocks then could pull enough at the gaps to get in. That's my biggest fear I think.
