What kind of pheasant?

I remember hearing my dad talk with a friend of ours this summer and we were talking about pheasants and one of the things that came up is pheasants that roost like turkeys. They said that somewhere here in pa that they were going to try to raise a type of pheasant like that but that was 10 or 15 years ago and in that section they put them in your not allowed to hunt. They said they stopped that project. Could it be possible that they could have breeded through the years and survived? What kind of pheasant are they? Could this be going on secretely? Thankyou

Well it is against the law to release anything but ringnecks in most states. I don't know of many other types that would survive. It's surely not an exotic bird so that narrows it down. I would bet a wallet full it was ringnecks. They might still be there, but you never know. Some release projects work some don't...
