What kind of rabbits do you have?

Very cute everyone. What would be a good breed to start out with? I want to show! How are holland lops? Im thinking also of french anogras. Whats opinions on these breeds. And i know no one wants to talk about it but how do you cull? And what to do you do with the culls?

It is a lot of work to breed for showing. French angoras have more upkeep than many other breeds. Holland lops are a very sweet breed. I raise mini rex and love them. The competition is also great with them-lots of people breed them. It really depends on a lot of things for what you should raise space, time, what you like the looks of, ect.

I sell culls on Craigslist as pets or take them to the auction as a last resort.

If you are looking for a wool breed think about Jersey Woolies. Once they get their senior coats, they take very little grooming, and at 2-3 pounds they are small enough for children to show. They also have great temperment. In addition to selling as pets, there are also people who feed "raw" to their dogs that buy culls.

We just had our first 4H bun breeding babies!

At first we thought she wan't taking care of them, but they are thriving so I can only assume she is.

They are like 2 weeks old now I think, just started to squirm around but their eyes are still closed.

I have six total. I have two pure cals and one pure NZ. I also have a trio of mutt cal/NZ. Hopefully they will taste great.
