what kind of snake is this?

I don't know what your coop looks like, but I had to use metal flashing to seal up edges to keep snakes out. They can get thru the smallest opening, which BTW is how the eat the eggs - they crack it after they eat it by squeezing thru small opening. Rat snakes are beneficial in controlling vermin, but can be irritating when they eat eggs.
I do remember one rat snake I had a tug of war with one time, it's funny now but wasn't then.
