I saw some bantams at an auction that weren't much bigger than pigeons. They were soo cute.

Anyone know what they might have been? They didn't bring much but their were a lot of pairs of different colors.

Most good bantam are small about 22oz to 40oz (1.375 lbs 2.50 lbs) Most hatchery "bantam" are bigger than they should be..

I have old english, my heaviest cockbird is 20 oz, and my lightest hen is 12 oz...I had a pair a while back that the cockbird weighed 13 oz, and the hen weighed 8 oz.....a lot of old english are much smaller than standard...

I would guess a game bantam. We had one that was so small at full grown size that we could pick her up and she fit in one hand! She was SUPER SUPER sweet too! We've had 3 now and loved all 3 of them dearly. The sweetest chickens we've had. Unfortunately the first two we lost to predetors.
