What kind to get?

I plan on ordering some chicks (hens) in the next couple days. We have several chickens now and many ducks.

I am looking for a good layer and a breed that may even lay through the winter. We live in PA, so it gets cold but not TOO bad.

What do you wise ones recommend?

I live in NY by PA and we sometimes have bad winters here. I have Buff Orpingtons and they lay through the winter. They are a great breed and are pretty good egg layers and good for meat too.
