After 10 years of chickens, ducks, geese, and guineas, I’ve moved to an entirely different part of the country, and my only poultry left is my 10 year old, Roman Tufted goose, named Alfalfa. “Falf” is very much a pet and part of the family. We lost our last chicken a few months ago so she has taken up a close friendship with our pet goat, Murphy. Sad to say that Murph is very geriatric and in declining health. Falf has just become broody and is setting on her unfertilized eggs. She has hatched out ducks and goose eggs before and is an excellent mother. I think I need to slip something fertile under her so she has a companion after Murphy leaves us. I’m sure I don’t want another goose. Maybe a duck. But my question is, can she successfully hatch out chickens or guineas or pea fowl? I can brood them if she can’t, so what other species is this scientificly possible?
