What left these tracks?

I’m thinking a mouse rolling an egg. But I can’t figure out how it got the egg out of the run. The run is welded wire with HC covering the bottom 4’ with a 2’ skirt. The mice are either climbing the HC skirt or I have holes they’re fitting in. I did block up a hole by the door created by the shifting ground. Any other ideas what could have made these tracks? They’re a day old and it is dark out. I didn’t think to take pictures until I was locking everyone up.

I know there are red squirrels around. I saw a baby one a lot before the snow hit. Once the snow hit however I haven’t seen it. I think the meadow vole is the closest one to the tracks. My friend thought snake too but it has little foot prints to the side of it. Like whatever it is was walking with a long tail. Ive been catching something in my rat traps which kind of looks like a meadow vole. I thought it was a mouse but something, i believe the chickens, has been eating holes in the dead mouse before i can take it out of the trap. I have no idea how they do this because its one of these traps.

Definitely not a snake, snakes are cold blooded and go into a catatonic like state when it's cold out.
It's most likely other rodents nibbling on whatever you've caught in the trap. They'll do that at times when there's not a lot of food available to them.

That was my other thought. That it was another mouse or something eating the dead mouse. But i was unsure if they did that or not.
