I live in Gardnerville NV and winter months can be cold especially at night. At what point (temperature) do I need to worry about my ducks?

Glad you joined us!

Ducks will do fine in temps down to the single digits. They will do fine in temps lower than that, if they have a place to get out of the wind/snow and some nice hay or straw to snuggle down in.

Awesome thanks. I'm in the process of building a coop and I don't think it gets quite single digits where I live

I'm glad you joined our community!

I don't have any experience with ducks, but mymillefleur answered your question well.

Welcome to the flock. There are excellent threads on DUCKS, in the "Other Backyard Poultry" forum above. If you have specific duck questions to ask, or to learn more about them.

I know it isn't the same but the wild ducks Mallards, tolerate the most dreadful winter conditions - well below zero temps, howling winds and lots of snow. Yet if they can find flowing water anywhere - they have a ball swimming around.
