What made this burrow?

I saw this this morning when I was letting out the broody hen with her chicks. The burrow is a foot away from her pen under an old dog house. I'm just wondering what it could be so can trap it if it's a predator. I know we have a skunk around but seems to small. We also have a smaller groundhog I have seen, couldn't make out any tracks or anything. I have a box trap set bated with cherry tomatoes and half a squash, I will do preditor bait tomorrow night. One pick of the entrance and 2 of the inside. The entrance had loose dirt like it was just dug out, had texture in it but I flattened it out so I could look for track right before I took the pictures.

I could be the groundhog. Groundhogs love the ripest cantaloupe you can find.

Invest in a game camera. Decent ones for this use can be had rather inexpensively then you will know for sure.

My dad has some for hunting I might be able to persuade him to let me use one of his.

That looks like a gopher in the first picture and the second picture looks like the entrance to her home. I have some of these holes in my backyard. Will they go after chickens?
