My dad had birds growing up. Every year we would go to the fair and say "I wish we had chickens". Well his (my) wish came true. Now it was our birds that people were looking at at the fair.

When i was little my great grandma had a yard full of chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, and one bossy old cow in the pasture. Since i grew up mainly in the city i never had the chance until i moved was out in the country. So far i have he chickens and the rest will come sometime soon.

2 years ago my husband rescued 2 meatie chicks from the biddy bus that came in for repairs. He thought we would raise and eat them. I fell in love with Peepers and Bo. Even though they are gone and I have lost others since I am up to 32 and loving all of my feathered babies. I had never even touched or seen a live chicken before them.

I'm kind of like grundail...my granny had them when I was little, and I enjoyed just watching them then (they weren't friendly, but were funny to watch). We moved out to "the country" a few years ago, so last summer I quit my stressful, pain in the butt job and started building a coop
