what material and where?

I have just built my coop Exciting times!

But what is the best thing to line the coop with? Straw? Wood chips? And how deep?

What about the laying box? Does the same go for that?

For the coop floor I use wood chips that I purchased form Tractor Supply, about 1" in depth.

When my chicks get old enough and start laying I will use straw in the nesting boxes.

just as i thought, but i did read straw can be bad for red mites? Thanks for the reply
