what might happen? broken eggs in nest.

My Broody hen was sitting on 12 eggs and 3 of them broke and made a very smelly mess, all over the other eggs.
Will the other eggs be okay?

The three that broke were probably duds or got a crack, happens to those of us who incubate artificially, too. Really stinks, doesn't it? I would wipe off the remaining eggs and hope for the best.

I had multiple hens horning in on a broody and that broke an egg or two-- a gooey sticky mess. I washed every egg under warm water, patted them dry and returned them to the broody. Still had a very good hatch rate.
