so... at my local feed store i bought two chicks from a tub labeled 'golden laced wynadottes.' when i got home i checked out a mail order catalogue and i'm pretty sure these girls aren't GLWs. the feed store also had buff orpingtons and new hampshires... any idea what these might be?

You have Orps. My NHR was actually a reddish color as a baby.

You'll learn to love your Orps, mine is a character which can be trying at times, but she's always amusing.

Okay, I'm happy with that. I would have liked some GLWs but Buff Orps were on my list of breeds good for our situation. Thanks for all the help, everyone! Can't wait to see them get bigger, my first chicks!
