What mix of dog do you think I am??

I agree. We don't know that this isn't a Heinz 57. I'm just going with what I see. Yes you can get odd variations when you mix two breeds, however, if this is a mix of two or three large or medium breeds then you're not going to get a miniature puppy. And I do agree with the nutrition thing, but likely given her age and condition now, which isn't bad, she's been adequately fed.

But, in the end, we don't really know. You could be absolutely correct on both accounts.

Jamie I agree with you. Was pointing the GS/Aussie mix towards petchickenlover, who posted some photos of her similar mix right before my post.

Perhapse a lab/Aussie mix? You said one of the other dogs she was with was a yellow lab like color and the other the same as her? Assuming they were litter mates, I would think that they were yellow lab/aussie cross. The head reminds me of lab too.
Beautiful dog by the way!

This made me cry, reminded me of my lab/sheppard mix.. he came to me in a similar way....only we found the owner because when he went to the vet he had a chip.... people said take him to the pound so i kept him... only mine was very mean and head shy at that age.... had to pay a trainer to teach me how to handle him..turned out to be the best dog i ever had..

Given your location, I'd guess English Setter or Pointer with - something else. Possibly a smaller dog like a beagle or even a collie cross or sheltie. Unless my eyes deceive me there's tan on her legs.

Since she's 15 lbs as a pup, I'm going to suggest she'll mature to a medium size. She looks a little tall on the leg for a Catahoula dog, heeler or similar cross, even given her age.

With abandoned/feral/loose dogs I always try to guess it's going to be some of the commonest breeds in the area.

Also remember any of the collie family breeds can throw out a color like that. Collies have a lot of different colors and crosses even with a tan or tricolor collie or shelthand sheepdog often give a mottled/merle/catahoula type color.

Friend had a German Shepherd catch her tan and white collie - the pups were all colors of the rainbow...and no skinny collie head.

Ok so no Owner has come forward, and DH is mad that I even brought her home. I WANT to keep her, I have fallen for her. But DH says NO WAY! He says we are at or over our limit as it is. We have a 10 1/2 year old American Bulldog, a 3 year old Bullmastiff, a 1 year old German Shepherd and an old evil cat. Add in my 2 kids (2 1/2 and 1 1/2) to the mix we have a houseful... She is such a great dog though. Pretty much not making messes as long as she is kept an eye on and pottied regularly, already learning to sit and laydown, walks on a leash... this is such a hard choice. So to get my husband off of my back I posted her, with a rehoming fee thinking it would be a while before anyone even responded. In less than 24 hours I have had 4 people write. One guy wants to come get her now...

I'm not ready to let her go yet....

I know I am a bit late on this one

but she looks catahoula to me also, catahoula is a hunting type dog and if one puppy was yellow-ish Cur (original or Kemmer) is very possible. I know most people think Curs are all mixed up mutts, but they are not! But they come in lots of sizes depending on the line. And it is VERY possible a female dog got lost while hunting!
