I'm in Tennessee. My neighbor found a dirt nest in the ground in her garden area. It had three white eggs in it about the size of a small chicken pullet egg. I believe they were white, the one I saw was pretty dirty and rotten. The other two either hatched or were eaten. We have not seen any other large birds around. Does that sound like how a guinea would lay? Right in a dirt hole? Or do you know of another possibility?

Yes, a guinea would lay in a dirt area, but the guineas that I had didn't lay white eggs. Sounds like a bantam chicken egg.

Looks like a bantam chicken egg but would have to be a bantam chicken that got around unseen by people or dogs and managed to lay three eggs in a dirt hole. I don't know anyone around here that has bantams. I'm in a neighborhood but it's very rural with some wooded areas. We have almost two acres and chickens but none lay small white eggs and none would jump the fence lay an egg and jump back. Lol It's a puzzle how any bird that size managed to do that or would pick that spot. It's right at the edge of a strawberry patch, so I would think we would have seen a bird big enough to lay that egg.

Guinea eggs are tan to brown with a pointy end. It sounds like you have a Ninja Bantam. LOL!

It's certainly a Ninja something. I wonder if there are any pheasants in Tennessee and what kind of eggs they lay. I just can't figure it out.
