I have been keeping chickens for about five years. I have lots of common breeds, like buff orpingtons, plymouth rocks, NHR, and RIR. We even have some unusal birds, like Easter eggers. Since we lost half the flock, we are able to get more chickens. What I want to do is get some more unusual breeds or varieties to add to the coop. There are so many out there, I can't decide! So I decided to consult the large chicken community on BYC. Any suggestions?

We live in IL, so the winters are usually cold and dry, with ocassional wintersvwhere we get large ammounts of snow. We have a little sebright bantam hen that does well, though.

'Wierd' would probably be a mille fluer (which I have been considering).

Haha okay so nothing really gamely then.

Chancellers (bad spelling on my behalf) are rare and uncommon, buckeye are another nice rare and odd breed. Then there polish, sultan, silkies (duh) and assortment of bantam breeds.
