What new skill will you learn this year?

I am going to learn how to raise meat chickens, starting with 75. And hopefully I am getting a light stand to start plants on next spring. I managed to grow a few flower plants from seed, and all my tomatoes and peppers, for the first time ever, and nw I want room to do MORE MORE MORE!

I am hoping to learn to make quilts also. I have several quilt tops and quilt squares, and am currently working on finishing up the sewing room.

Maplesky, I've done the same thing, but it was after I'd been sewing for years. The needle came out on its own. Boy, that hurt.

I've got some of the barest, weed-riddled pastures on the entire road. EVERYONE around me has gorgeous pastures. Yet I lime, fertilize, and seed every single spring AND fall (which, btw, I never see anybody else doing around here!) I'm gonna figure out what the %$#@! I am doing wrong even if it kills me!!!

I've started by sending soil samples to Auburn University's Soil Lab in a desperate hope that maybe they can tell me something to do that actually WORKS. I've asked neighbors whose pastures I admire and all they can do is shrug their shoulders, scratch their ____, and say, "I dunno. Nothin' special. It just grows that way."

No kidding, I used the weed eater one time and cut my ankles up, and I am grounded from it now . . .sheesh. Give a girl a chance!!!!

I learned that too.....note to self....do not weed wack in flip flops.
