What noises do your chickens make?

Admittedly, this is an extremely silly and total newbie question, but I'm honestly curious.

I'd never really been around chickens before I got mine, so I was little surprised that instead of the "bawk bawk bawk" I was expecting, I got squeals and squeaks and pigeon coos and belligerent yelling.

One in particular sounds like a dog squeak-toy. What do yours do?

Lots of pigeon-like sounds here! Occasionally I'll hear a bawk, but that's usually if there's a scuffle over a treat or something. This is our first year with chickens too and I was surprised by how talkative they are, but more bird type sounds than what you would think a chicken says :)

Mine only do the whole "bawk bawk BAGAWK" thing in the morning when they're freaking out about laying. Just a few extremely loud verses and then they're back to all their normal weirdness. :D

Sometimes as the sun starts going down, they'll all chill out together and start cooing quietly to each other. It's adorable. <3

Mine just make very random noises... Sometimes they sound like the meadow larks in the field... I have noticed though, when someone senses danger, one of them will let out a loud "PEEP", everyone else freezes stop to listen, and then they will either run to the coop or just proceed as normal... Cracks me up to watch them communicate with each other! AND if someone finds a treat they squeal and squawk while they run around, I would think they'd try to be super quite and hide their "find" but it's Almost like "haha look what I have, now chase me!"

I don't think I have ever heard a bawk bawk, or the cluck cluck I expected

When they speak to each other it's all fast bird like noises. When they talk to me, it's elongated from the usual, as if they've slowed it down so I can understand. I still don't know what they're saying when the leader says "Baaaaaaawk-bawk-bawk". That's the response I get when I ask "What are you birds doing?"

They say nothing when I tell them to go home, but when we're hanging out, they get quite chatty.

We have a varied range of noises but this cracks me up, she's camera shy but it gets loud. She's 3 1/2 months an Amber Sex Link though 5 out of 6 look like white Plymouth rocks the 6th has a splash of color as intended by the mix LOL.

Our Silkies bawk bawk bawk

Barred Rock makes a scratchy noise that varies on her mood.

the Rest of the amber links right now make baby squeaks but are slowly coming into their own.

our other babies are 2 months and still make baby squeaks.
