I thought it was the beginning of a chick arterie....The chalazae (plural) are rope-like structures made of protein that act as a support system for the yolk. It keeps the yolk suspended in the center of the egg and safe from pressing against the shell or settling on one side of the egg. When cracking an egg, there's really no need to remove the chalazae. Its fine you can eat it.
Excess calcium deposits itself on the eggshell. That’s a meat spot - a vessel that broke during the formation of the yolk. Unappetizing to look at but perfectly fine to eat.Pretty sure this is excess calcium. Might be time to cut back on how much calcium your girls are getting!
thank you so much! I have never seen that before.Excess calcium deposits itself on the eggshell. That’s a meat spot - a vessel that broke during the formation of the yolk. Unappetizing to look at but perfectly fine to eat.
Would be good to take a pic on a plain white surface, tho nice focus in that pic.what is that? looks like a colony of something growing in a petite dish.
