What other chickens mix well with buff orpingtons? (B.O. roo too)

haha, so unrelated... but I just had to mention that my shih tzu x yorkie puppy is named Cashew! (some of my other dogs are named Sage, Thyme, Jasmine and Nutmeg!)

My first chickens were Silkies (from a neighbor who helped with a school hatching project). My next breed was Buff Orpingtons. They got along just fine. I have since built more pens and runs, but my Silkies (8--including 3 roos) get along with Buffs and my Welsummer hens. I have found that I can usually transition my youngsters (Buffs, EE's, Wellsummers, mutts) from the brooder to the Silkie pen without problems. Just keep an eye on everyone at first.

In my case it was the BO causing all the issues. See below - I have a mix of breeds. Last spring I had a mix of naked hens thanks to one of the BO's. Not one of my EE's had a muff, just naked necks. My polish had half their poufs. My other BO had strips of feathers removed from her neck. My rooster was literally hen pecked. I had to remove my 2 silkie hens last winter because one was seriously hurt. That BO died this summer of unknown causes. (like we were upset - not) I only have one BO left and she lives happily with all the rest. And now that they are done molting my chickens all look like normal chickens again.
