What pine shavings should I use?

Hello! In everyone's experience, what is the better choice of pine shavings size? fine or large flakes? Thanks!

For chicks large flakes. You don't want to use fine flakes for chicks 'cause they are more likely to try and eat it. That said, I still like to offer a bit of chick grit even with the large flakes in case they eat a bit of that or something else weird anyways. I only give them a bit at first so they don't overindulge (which can occasionally happen while they're figuring out what food is) but after a week or so I make sure they always have some available
