I am going to be planting a few plants in my chicken run. The run itself is 750sqft so we have plenty of room, and we are going to build a high fence, so the chickens can’t get in. My question is, what are the best chicken friendly plants? I’m planning on about 5 types, thanks in advance!

I am not sure if you are looking to grow plants for them to eat. They will eat what they need. If so oregano is a miracle herb for them. Parsley has healthy vitamins, and a stimulant for laying. Comfrey encourages healthy eggs. Lemon balm eliminates stress. Marigolds and dandelions are good for them. I hope this helps. I am not sure of your goal to achieve- you may want to research depending on what you want to give the chickens.

thanks that’s so helpful! My purpose is to fence off the garden while it’s growing, and then let them have some fun in it.

Grow some zucchini, winter squash and pumpkin. Zucchini will provide a practically unlimited supply of fresh vegetables over the summer. You can store the winter squash and pumpkin for the winter months when you don't have any fresh plants available for them to dine on.
