I thought of it, but dismissed it because this little guy has no muff at all. It IS possible the hatchery really fell through on breeding for muffs this season though..... but even then, neither Blue nor Lavender is listed for their D'Uccles.

In fact the only fuzzy foot breed they list Blue for is Cochin. What a brain-teaser

Edit: Posted at the same time as the Porcelain post. That's a good point! I wonder if the lighting in the OPs pic is dimming out the lighter belly and making it only seem uniform in coloration.

its a uniform gray all over which makes it a lavender chick...email a pics to the hatchery and see what they say...but there is no doubt that that is lavender

The chick looks alot like that one but the belly does look a little lighter but you have to look good to even notice it.
