What method of record keeping does everyone use? Some ideas that come to mind include Excel spreadsheet, physical notebook, etc.

I’ve also contemplated some sort of simple database such as Microsoft Access that I can put a form in front of, but I can’t figure out whether Access has an app…whatever I get has to be something that I can easily enter info from the coop — I’m NOT good about taking notes then entering later.

I’m mostly interested in tracking info on my meat bird flock, but some data on the layers would also be nice.

I use Excel, have for almost 10 years, tho I don't keep as tight of records as I did at first.

I write down how much each egg weighs in grams, and note who laid it if I know. So my entry for today is:
19 Apr: 62 St(ormy) 62 La(rk) 59 Mi(ddle)

I use Excel. Access is not a simple database btw, it's more complex than Excel.
I’m aware it’s more complex than Excel…simple, as in it doesn’t require much, if any, coding to put together input forms, etc like other databases (or at least it didn’t when I last used it, which, admittedly, was about ten years ago).

I use Flockstar and love it. They have free version and a paid version. The free version is great you can log eggs and make journal entries as well as log pictures. The paid version is really great because you can keep track of sales and expenses
