What rooster should I have for the winter in my pen

What is your goal with the rooster?
In my personal opinion i would choose the one who is friendly and not to rough with the hens.

Are you planning on hatching? Then pick the one that will give you the desired features in offspring. Are you just putting on in just to be with the hens? Pick the nicest one that they respect.

I have the golden laced Wyandotte in right now but I’ve recently have had attacks on flock so I was wanting to put one of the pieces there three in because they are younger and would be able to protect the flock better

I was thinking about bringing in one of the younger ones I thought it was a good idea because I thought that a younger one could protect the hens better

Roosters do not always protect the flock, They will sometimes do an alarm but only rarely will they attack, Only THEN do they only try attacking hawks and stuff.
